I Cannot Stress Enough

That you are more valuable than you think you are, more potential in those fiery eyes and groaning bones than you realize. Every bit of you is worth something to the maker of Heaven, from thoughts and breaths to the hair on your arms and the nails on your toes. You have been counted, weighed, and set priceless before the throne of God in the Kingdom of Heaven.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 8: 38-39

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." -Psalms 139:14

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." -James 1:17

You are more than for looks, made for more than sidelines. You are meant to be the change you want to see in the world. You are meant to think and dream and not hold back, no matter the chase or the cost or the temporary pains. You were not meant for shame, but for certainty and security in all that you do. For God is beside you and walks with you, counting your steps in your numbered days. God is in awe of the way you think, despite what you may think of God. King David had as many victories as failures, but he was still "a man after God's own heart" and the Lord was always with him. Read 1 Samuel... countless times this man faced death, was counted as worthless and useless because of his complexion, his youth, this and that... but He stood firm in knowing that God was everything and in that David could be everything he needed to be. In 1 Samuel it says that he SUCCESSFULLY completed ALL that King Saul asked of him. Successfully means to more than get the job done, it means grade A work in EVERYTHING.

You just need to know that you're right in the middle of God's plan, where you need to be. Your stumbling is a part of the journey. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward. If your trip was easy, it wouldn't be worth making. Where's the satisfaction in having spent your life avoiding the mountain you could have climbed, where on the other side waiting was paradise?

Hmmm... time to go exercise.

About Me

My photo
I am a tug of war between head and heart, a mess of body and soul. My greatest fear is my only hope, for it is not a man with beginning or end, but something much greater and wilder than anything of flesh and bone. I am a woman of simple words, wild love, and no apologies for either. © Ashley Burrough 2013. All Rights Reserved.
